condition but he is hanging
on.
This, his son, Eric Quizon
told Korina Sanchez in an
interview aired on TV
Patrol on Wednesday, June
20.
"He s had this condition
(Chronic Obstructive
Pulmonary Disease) for five
years. In and out of the
hospital siya.Konting ubo,
konting pneumonia, dala sa
ospital. It came to a point
that yesterday, okay ang
vitals niya," Eric recalls.
They took him out of the
respirator but Eric said his
dad was only able to
breathe on his own for five
to six hours. So they had
to put the respirator back.
"Overnight, ang kidneys
niya humina. Nagkaroon ng
complications na hindi
masyadong na fi-filter ang
gamot na ina-adminsiter sa
kanya. Kaya toxins and
napupunta sa ibang parte
ng katawan niya, Eric
reports.
In and out of
consciousness
He adds that Dolphy is in
and out of consciousness
and they couldn t
communicate with him the
usual way.
"But he responds through
his eyebrows, his eyes.
Dinidiinan ang kamay niya
pag hinahawakan namin
siya. He twitches, so alam
naming naririnig niya kami."
The family noticed that
Dolphy had spasms, and he
had to undergo blood
transfusion in the morning
of June 20.
Eric relates that doctors
are observing Dolphy
closely because the threat
of sepsis could exist.
Eric recalls the last time he
was able to talk to his dad
was on Tuesday, June 19.
Eric asked Dolphy how he
felt. "I m still alive. I m
okay but not okay," Dolphy
replied.
After that, Eric relates, his
dad suddenly collapsed and
they had to respirate him.
When Korina asked,
"Naghabilin na ba si Dolphy
sa inyo?",Eric replied,
"Inayos na niya ang lahat
ng dapat ayusin, at naayos
naman namin yon."
Eric admitted that members
of the Quizon family are "all
vulnerable and emotional"
when they talk to doctors
at Makati Medical Center,
where Dolphy has been
confined for the past 11
days.
